The Song and Its Creator

The protection of a musical work is essential for any composer, and in this talk, we had the honor of hosting José Antonio Beltrán. In his segment "The Song and Its Creator," he spoke about the importance of copyright and the registration of musical works—a crucial topic for those looking to safeguard their creativity and receive the recognition they deserve.

This conversation was part of "Building Rhythms" with Adrián Zamarripa, held on January 31, where we explored the composition process and the journey of bringing a song to life.

The Mariachi: A Living Tradition

On November 25, we experienced an unforgettable evening in the Bronx, where music, culture, and the history of mariachi brought us together in a deep conversation about its impact on Mexico’s identity and our communities.

We had the honor of hosting:

  • Humberto Plancarte, leader of Tierra Cali, and Ivann Flores, who shared their talent and vision of this iconic musical genre.

  • Professor Valentín Martínez from Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer Academy, who invited us to reflect on the importance of education as a fundamental pillar in strengthening our community and preserving our roots.

Here, you’ll find the multimedia materials used during the talk, so you can explore the richness of mariachi and its history further.

Relive the best moments in this video, and let’s continue celebrating our traditions together!
